The Drive to Excel
Applying classroom learning to real-life projects is a given at Union, as the Baja Team can attest. The Baja competition isn’t part of a class, but its academic intensity is legendary on campus. Students who design and build these single-seat, off-road vehicles and race them against other college teams display incredible ingenuity and a passion for combining engineering, science and sportsmanship. Each year, the Baja Team consists of students from diverse majors and class years who battle it out in a rough-and-tumble road race put on by the Society of Automotive Engineers.
