Type of Traffic Measured:
All analytics measure EXTERNAL traffic only (i.e., outside the Union network.) But they do include faculty or student traffic from home computers, etc.
Definitions:
Pageview:
A pageview occurs each time a visitor views a page on a website, regardless of how many hits occur on that page. Pages are comprised of files. Every image on the page is a separate file. When a visitor looks at a page (a pageview), they may see numerous images, graphics, pictures etc. and therefore generate multiple hits.
Unique Pageview:
Unique pageviews refer to unique visitors, defined as a unique IP address (an address assigned to each computer) that has made at least one hit on one page of the website during a certain period of time. If this visitor makes more than one visit during this period of time, it is counted only once as a unique pageview.
Visits: Visits represent the number of individual sessions initiated by all the visitors to a site.
